Relationships

I. Xemnas- It is relatively obvious amongst the Organization that Vexen is quite afraid of his Superior. Having been with Xemnas quite a long time, he has evidence of just what the man is capable of, and considering Vexen’s tendency to be on bad terms with him, he has felt Xemnas’ displeasure firsthand.

II. Xigbar- Outwardly, Vexen is quite irritated by Xigbar’s antics and prankster behavior. Though when it comes down to it, he has a potential friendship with the Freeshooter. He respects Xigbar despite the outward insults, knowing full well what the nobody is truly capable of.

III. Xaldin- Once again one of the few nobodies Vexen respects. Xaldin’s nature is far easier to deal with than the others, though he is well aware of the Lancer’s power. Vexen tries to not step on his toes.

V. Lexaeus- Their relationship couldn’t exactly be called friendship, but a toleration. Vexen approves of Lexaeus at the least, but finds the man more or less ignorable. He is not a road block, nor is he distinct assistance in anything.
RP: They have revisited their friendship from their lives as somebodies, strengthening that bond and reminding themselves of their old camaraderie. However, it is still fairly obvious that the glue binding them together is Zexion. The Schemer can bring them together just as easily as he can tear them apart.

VI. Zexion- Vexen’s closest friend in the Organization. He raised Ienzo as a child, causing a mild protectiveness in their nobody states. This is perhaps the only other nobody Vexen will go out of his way to preserve a relationship with.
RP: Zexion and Vexen have begun returning to their roots as ‘father’ and ‘son’, strengthening this relationship significantly. Vexen even went so far as to stand up to Xemnas physically for the sake of this relationship with Zexion.

VII. Saix- He is more or less avoided. Vexen is well aware of the Diviner’s obscene power and strength, so he tries to steer clear. He does harbor a good deal of resentment that a rank of VII can be promoted to near second-in-command, however. There is a strange measure of respect mixed in as well.

VIII. Axel- One of his highest sources of irritation in the Organization. The two are most distinct opposites, and it shows clearly. Their mutual dislike results in many a scrap.

IX. Demyx- Vexen usually falls habit to overlooking Demyx. The Nocturne is undoubtedly irritating with his constant music and chipper nature, but considering they rarely interact Vexen doesn’t count him as a thorn in his side… yet.

X. Luxord- Perhaps the only neophyte that Vexen does not immediately dislike. Luxord is responsible, more or less, as well as intelligent. That earns him enough respect from the Academic. However, Vexen cannot help a disdainful attitude around the Gambler- rank must be taken into account.
RP: Their relationship fluctuates nearly constantly to that of close friends, drinking buddies, and occasional lovers. No one is quite sure how or why this works out for them, but it does. Luxord is one of Vexen’s most trusted companions, and vice versa.

XI. Marluxia- This is indefinitely Vexen’s leading source of irritation. He has developed a strange need-to-hate view of the Assassin; the hatred and rivalry he feels towards Marluxia is the closest thing he feels to a true emotion, and he almost covets it. This of course has Vexen easier to manipulate, and Vexen is begrudgingly aware of Marluxia’s ability to do just that.
RP (In group): Their rivalry had been taken to new heights since Vexen’s defensiveness of Namine’. Oftentimes the scientist will defend that which Marluxia attacks compulsively, out of an ingrained desire to steal from the Assassin. This may land him in quite a bit of trouble, but the rivalry is somewhat addictive.
RP (Out of group): (Theeverbloomingdarkness) Vexen is admittedly smitten with Marluxia, though it is a strange attraction that he cannot comprehend. He loves to despise the neophyte just as he finds passion in their rivalry. This can become violent and volatile, but he refuses to change.

XII. Larxene- Vexen has never been fond of the Nymph, at least outwardly. She is too confident for her rank, he believes, and he bristles at her every move. However, it might be said that the Academic harbors a bit of a crush on the one female of the Organization… though he would never admit it.

XIII. Roxas- Roxas is seen as the ultimate tool. Vexen hardly even counts him as a member of the Organization, not seeing him as respected nor disliked. He is more an object than anything, a key that must be used. It is in this mentality that Vexen treats him like somewhat of a pet of the Organization.

Namine’- Is a similar case to Roxas, though somewhere deep down Vexen has the potential to grow fond of her. Unlike Roxas, however, he usually fails to acknowledge her presence.
RP: Namine’ and Vexen have found themselves bonding in strange ways. It is much like looking into a twisted mirror, to see how both of them fit under the schemes of others as pawns. This ignites a shadow of sympathy in the scientist, and he will do what he can to protect her from the trouble he could not save himself from. She is much like a daughter to him.

Xion- Vexen more or less ignores her. She is a constant reminder of his failure and he hardly enjoys that in his line of sight. However, he cannot help but feel a strange paternal pull to her when no one notices, harboring a strange protectiveness over that which he created.

OTHERS:

Roxy: (bleedingflames) Although he hates to admit it, Vexen is quite fond of her. The elemental is a spirit that ignites fires in him long forgotten, anything from anger to annoyance to attraction to passion. If a nobody could be in love, this would be the closest thing to it.

Sephiroth: (devilsfallenangel) A monumental thorn in Vexen’s side, and a powerful enemy the scientist does not wish to constantly have on his back. However, Vexen is well aware of Sephiroth’s dark past, having studied the notes of his creation. The scientist has a small leg up on the One Winged Angel, though it will most likely land him in more trouble than help.

Hojo: Vexen has nothing but respect for the professor that has created Sephiroth (or so he thought had created Sephiroth). Well, perhaps a bit of ingrained rivalry at the fact that Hojo was in fact better than him at the field of genetics and cloning. Hojo was his one superior, and though he respects that, Vexen does not like it.

Sora: The boy with the big key and the big shoes shall not be spoken of.
